Recently, a strange alien-like creature with a ‘human mouth’ was discovered near the Bondi beach, Australia. In a year that witnessed the continuous spread of a virus, a heartbreaking war between two countries, and flooding in Australia, the alien-like creature’s discovery is either a foreshadowing or a red herring.

The bizarre creature was first reported to have been discovered earlier on April 5 by a man identified as Drew Lambert. Out on the Bondi beach, Lambert had to stop his daily jog and had to scratch his eyes to truly come to terms with what had washed up on the beach.

The nearly half-a-meter long creature had strange feature which resembled a “human” while its skin was similar to a shark’s skin. Like most people would, Lambert took his phone out and quickly shot the video of the creature.

He shared the same on Facebook and the video evoked several curious comments by the netizens. Many netizens on Facebook proposed the theory of the creature being a disfigured shark. However, the theory was soon rejected as the creature lacked a slew of common shark features.

The Facts of the Matter

The Australian subcontinent is known for its strange and rare discoveries of flaura and fauna. However, it’s not every day that the country reports the discovery of a truly unseen creature, almost resembling an alien, but also having features of a human.

Earlier on April 5, a Sydney resident Drew Lambert was out and about on the Bondi beach. While jogging, Lambert did a double take when he saw a strange-looking creature that almost looked other-worldly, but had features of humans.

Netizens Speculate on what the Creature May Be

The incident received a slew of suggestions by netizens. While some commented saying it was a shark, others stated that something else. In his interview to Storyful, Lambert said that in his opinion the creature is a “decomposing coffin ray” that has “ballooned” intestines.

There was also a speculation among the netizens who opined that the creature was a bone shark. However, the theory was soon disapproved as the creature lacked several common features found in shark.

Confusion Meets Satisfying End

Speaking to interview, Lambert said – “I’ve lived in Bondi for 20 years and I’ve never seen anything like this before.”

“I thought [but] the mouth is on the underside. And it’s got grey leather-like skin like a shark. But it doesn’t have that dorsal fin at the top like a shark so I was really confused,” he added.

The confusion finally met its satisfying end after a supervisor at the Sea Life Sydney Aquarium confirmed that the creature is none other than Australian numbfish. She further noted that the reason the creature seems bloated is because the body during decomposition gets filled with gas.
