Chaos ensued in Singapore with disturbing viral videos emerging that show locals trying to defend a woman from her wife wielding husband. The distressing video showed the woman’s husband swinging the knife at her wife in public and slashing her in process.
The incident transpired near a restaurant and soon locals swung into action, each with a deterrent to stop the man. One man was seen in the video carrying a plastic chair, while other carried a long ladder to intimidate the enraged and disturbed knife wielding man.
Meanwhile, the woman who was slashed, was conscious and sitting on the pavement of the road, with her face completely bloodied due to the attack. The man somehow ended up slitting his wrists at the scene and was later tasered by the Singapore Police Force (SPF) officers. The 46-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder

Anger, greed, jealousy, these are some common feelings we as humans deal with on almost an everyday basis. Often for a split second we feel rage take over us and trigger us into saying something or doing something we may regret.
The world continues spinning on its axis and continues functioning with some peace thanks to people who are able to manage such emotions. However, for some people these emotions are too challenging to control, and they end up acting in a way that is concerning and often, violent.
On the streets of Singapore, a similar instance was seen when a 46-year-old man launched into a full-blown enraged assault and attacked his 41-year-old wife with a chopper (kitchen knife). The attacker’s wife works in a restaurant on the Beach Road, where the incident took place earlier on Thursday. After the incident, the attacker has been dubbed as ‘The Beach Road Slasher’ by the media.

Harrowing Visuals Show Man Slashing Away at Wife
Viral videos on popular content platforms including Reddit and 9Gag show the attacker launching havoc on his wife on the alleyway of a busy Singapore street. The man can be seen swinging the sharp weapon multiple times and slashing his wife multiple points.
At one point as the chaos ensued, the kitchen knife’s handle broke. However, the man continued slashing the victim with the pointed side of the blade. He then barged into a restaurant to grab another knife.
Locals Unite Against Attacker, Tried to Separate him from Victim
The attacker exited through the back door where a lot of locals had already gathered. Video of the incident also shows locals throwing daily-use objects at the man to deter him. One man threw a plastic chair kept outside the restaurant at the man. Another local tried to block the man with metal plates and chair.
A third local was caught in the video using a metal sign post against the attacker. Two locals also tried to intimidate the assailant with ladder.

Attacker Slit his Own Wrist Before Arrest
The incident met its shocking end when the attacker ended up slitting his own wrists. He was surrounded by the members of the Singapore Police Force who tased him in order to restrain him. Meanwhile, the victim was rushed to the hospital and was reported conscious while being rushed for treatment.
The police in its statement acknowledged the roles locals played in containing the violence. “Several members of the public had intervened to help the victim and prevent the man from causing further harm to the victim,” the SPF statement read.
