Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the world’s longest river cruise – MV Ganga Vilas Cruise on Friday (13 January 2022). This cruise (water vessel) will cover a distance of 3,200 kilometers from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh to Dibrugarh in Assam via the India-Bangladesh Protocol Road. Along with this, it will traverse through 27 different river systems from 50 tourist destinations.
During a two–month long journey, cruse will cover major tourist destinations including world heritage sites, national parks, river ghat, Patna in Bihar, Sahibganj in Jharkhand, Kolkata in West Bengal, Dhaka in Bangladesh and Guwahati in Assam, along with 50 other tourist sites. MV Ganga Vilas‘s first voyage will be from Varanasi to Dibrugarh, where 32 tourists from Switzerland can relish the joy of the journey. The expected date of arrival of MV Ganga Vilas at Dibrugarh is 1 March 2023.
