The government of Quebec has issued a mandatory evacuation notice to the residents of the villages of Val-Paradis and Beaucanton, located near the Ontario border. The population of the two villages combined is approximately 340 people. Officials gave locals only one and a half hours on Friday night to leave the area as the wildfire in the nearby area threatened to spread.
