In an incident straight out of a Bollywood-flick, a bride in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, indulged in a 20km long pursuit to catch her runaway groom, and drag him back to the wedding venue. Clad in her resplendent wedding ensemble, she embarked on an adrenaline-fueled pursuit to reclaim her beloved groom, who was hatching an audacious escape plan from the holy bond of matrimony.
The tale began with a romance that had blossomed over two and a half years between the tenacious bride and her groom, hailing from the neighboring district of Badaun. With hearts entwined and families aligned, a wedding date was finally decided, and the Bhuteshwar Nath Temple was chosen as the sacred backdrop for their nuptials.
However, on the fateful day, the groom, seemingly vanished into thin air, left the anxious bride stranded at the venue, adrift on an ocean of uncertainty.
Concerned, she reached out to her betrothed, only to be greeted with a dubious excuse as he claimed to be journeying to Budaun to fetch his dear mother.
Without an ounce of hesitation, she harnessed her inner tigress and unleashed a whirlwind of determination. Her mission? To hunt down her fleeing groom and drag him back to the altar.
The groom was brought back, and the wedding was ultimately solemnized.

In a scene reminiscent of a Bollywood blockbuster, the streets of Bareilly witnessed an astonishing spectacle as a bride, bedecked in all her splendid wedding attire, turned into an unstoppable force of determination. She embarked on an audacious pursuit, covering a staggering distance of 20 kilometers, to capture her “runaway groom” and reclaim the much-anticipated marital vows.

Bride and Groom were Together for 2.5 Years
The bride, having cherished a romantic bond with her partner for a remarkable two-and-a-half years, eagerly awaited the blissful union of matrimony. After some negotiations between their families, a date was firmly set, and the Bhuteshwar Nath Temple became the sacred venue where their couple were to set to get married.
However, on the wedding day, as the minutes passed by, the bride’s apprehensions grew as the groom had not appeared.
Bride Reaches Out to Groom, Given Flimsy Excuse
Anxious and resolute, the bride, adorned in her bridal outfit, took matters into her own hands and dialed her would-be husband’s number. The groom delivered a tale as flimsy as a last-minute movie plot twist. He claimed he was off to retrieve his mother from Budaun, throwing the bride in a state of disarray.

Bride Gives Runaway Groom 20 km Chase

The bride’s suspicion and intuition was proven right, when she managed to get her hands on him as he was about to board a bus in Bhimora police station, some 20 km away from Bareilly.
Groom Dragged Back, Couple Gets Married
In a moment frozen in time, the resolute bride seized her wayward lover, dragging him back towards the Bhimora temple. The onlookers and locals were stunned to see a woman, dressed in her bridal wear, dragging her runaway groom to the wedding venue.
Eventually, love conquered all, and our runaway groom and his tenacious wife ended up solemnizing their marriage, in the presence of their family members.
We hope the bride in question buys a pair of running shoes, just in case her now-husband decides to once again storm off and give her a chase!
