In Bengaluru, a daughter plotted the murder of her mother with the help of her stepfather – who was also her lover. Reportedly, the woman was hacked to death earlier this week on the outskirts of the city while she was on her way home after casting vote in the gram panchayat election. The incident happened on December 27 and the deceased woman was identified as Archana Reddy. Reportedly, the murder was the final tipping point in the story which involves property dispute and affair between a step-father and the daughter of the deceased woman.
The police have arrested 7 people including the woman’s daughter, ex-husband and their associates.
Background
On December 28, news platforms across the nation were reporting on the gruesome murder of a 42-year-old Bengaluru homemaker Archana Reddy. While making her way back to home after casting vote, she was ambushed by assailants who used machetes on her. The Bellandur resident was later rushed to the hospital, but she had already succumbed to her injuries.
The police’s initial suspicion was on the woman’s husband Naveen. As per the preliminary investigation, it was revealed that the couple had been fighting with each other over property dispute. A case was already registered about the same.
The woman had already divorced the man around five to six years back. Even so, their arguments persistent. This led the police to consider Naveen the mastermind behind the crime. However, the truth was far more surprising and shocking.

In a complicated web of betrayal, infidelity and greed – a 21-year-old girl was reported to be arrested for plotting the murder of her mother. The girl formulated the plan to eliminate her own mother with the help of her step-father who ended up raising the weapon and killing his ex-wife.
Incidentally, the step father was also a newly turned lover of the 21-year-old girl. The girl has been identified as Yuvika Reddy, while her stepfather turned lover has been identified as Naveen Kumar. The deceased is Archana Reddy, who was hacked to death earlier this week.

Daughter-Mother Duo Were in Conflicted Relationship
A final-year Bom student, Yuvika and her mother always had a strained relationship. The strained relationship worsened when her mother filed a complaint against her second husband Naveen Kumar. She had filed a complaint against Kumar under IPC 498A (Husband or relative of husband of a woman subjecting her to cruelty).
Earlier, Archana Reddy had already sent a few goons to Naveen’s home where Yuvika was also staying. The goons threatened Naveen about the consequences he may face if he continues his relationship with Yuvika. The goons also told Naveen to send Yuvika to her mother.
Daughter Decides to Eliminate Mother, Hatches Plan with Stepfather Lover
A furious Yuvika decided to eliminate her own mother. For this, she took the help of her stepfather Naveen, with whom she was already living with.
It should be noted that Naveen and Yuvika were used to have a lavish lifestyle. A gym trainer, Naveen had stopped earning after the pandemic came and lockdowns followed. The daughter-step-father duo lived off the resources of Archana Reddy.

Meanwhile, Archana and Naveen were always on loggerheads due to Archana’s refusal to transfer some property to him. When Archana found that her daughter Yuvika and second-husband Naveen were having an affair, she threatened her daughter to end the relationship. In order to convince Yuvika to break her ties, Archana also told her that she will not receive her part of the ancestral property if she continues with her relationship.
