In Bengaluru, seven schools had to be evacuated after bomb threat emails were sent from the US. The probe is still on for what police is now calling ‘mostly a hoax’ threat. On April 8, panic was palpable in schools across Bengaluru after seven schools in the city received alarming bomb threat email. Interestingly enough, most schools that received the alert were found to be in East Bengaluru.

As soon as authorities were alerted, police officials were deployed to the various schools along with respective bomb squads and canine unit. According to a TNM report, the email read – “Immediately call the police and sappers, hundreds of lives may suffer, including yours, do not delay, now everything is only in your hands,” adding that the threat is not a “warning”.

Schools that had to be evacuated in the aftermath of the incident include – Indian Public School, St. Vincent Pallotti school, Ebenezer International School, Delhi Public School, Gopalan International, and more. According to a Hindustan Times report, the police are continuing on their probe, however, prima facie it appears that the threat was a hoax.
