A horrific incident took place in Bengaluru where a cabbie, suspecting infidelity on her wife’s part, strangled her to death in the presence of their minor daughter. The 38-year-old accused was arrested for strangling his wife to death by a belt.
The incident occurred between the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday and was reported from the accused and the victim’s residence located at Kalappa Layout near HAL. The accused was identified as Neelkantha and the victim was identified as 37-year-old Nagamma.
Reportedly, the accused committed the crime in the minor daughter’s presence, who reportedly alerted the victim’s sister about the incident. On receiving the alert, the HAL police rushed to the crime scene but found the accused to be absconding. On Wednesday, the police were able to nab the accused.
The news comes just a few days after a similar incident was reported from Chennai. In Chennai, a woman was set on fire by her partner who acted on his suspicion of infidelity. The victim was rushed to the hospital and was reported to be under critical condition with 15% burn injuries on her body.

What are some of the horrifying ingredients to make a spine-chilling crime? Anger, greed, suspicion, and not caring about the consequences. A Bengaluru man committed a crime with all these ingredients, and furthermore scarred his minor-daughter for life.

The accused is reportedly a cab driver.

Cabbie Suspected Wife of Infidelity
According to reports, 38-year-old Neelkantha suspected his 37-year-old wife Nagamma of cheating on him who worked as a housekeeper for a private office. Due to the suspicion the couple often ended up in heated arguments. Little did both the parties know the tragedy that awaited them in the corner.
On Monday, Nagamma reportedly called her sister Parvathi and told her about the fights she was having with her husband. Nagamma also told her sister that her husband had told her that she should die to make way for his second marriage. At that time, the victim’s sister asked her to stay calm and told her that she would visit her soon and help her work through the issues.

Victim’s Sister Receives Horrifying Call from 8-yo-Daughter
The same night, Nagamma’s sister received the shocking call from the 8-year-old daughter who told her that her mother was killed. Soon, the cops were alerted about the matter and they soon rushed to the crime scene.
Accused Fled the Scene, Arrested on Wednesday
On reaching the crime scene, the police found out that the accused had fled and had gone into hiding. On Wednesday, the police were able to arrest the accused on the basis of technological inputs and inputs from informants.

Similar Incident Reported from Thiruvananthapuram
Earlier on March 2, 2022, a woman was reportedly held for attacking her husband with a stone after a heated verbal spat. The incident was reported from Palode, Thiruvananthapuram. The victim had reportedly come back from Middle East and had attended the Sivaratri festival at a temple near their residence.
On the evening of the crime, the accused saw her husband talking to someone on phone and asked him to hand his phone over. The conversation turned into a heated argument and soon the accused woman Soumya, attacked her husband Shiju with a stone.
The victim died on the spot and the woman confessed about her actions to her relatives. She was soon taken to custody while the victim’s body was sent for most mortem and further investigation.
