Manoj Ahiwar, a 22-year-old man, stabbed Kavita Ahiwar, his sister-in-law to death after getting furious by the constant crying of her two-year-old son. The frequent crying of the toddler was said to have hampered his preparation for National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) .
According to the police in charge Arun Kumar, the murder took place around 3:30p.m at the residence of the accused, on Monday in Gandhi Nagar Locality, Bhopal. After committing the murder, the accused escaped from the house but was tracked down and arrested by the police within few hours.
The Facts of the Matter
In a horrific incident, a 22-year-old boy gruesomely stabbed his own 25-year-old sister-in-law over getting agitated over a simple issue. This murder can be considered as an outcome of frustration.
Several such cases have happened previously where students sometimes lose their patience and commit such terrible acts. The case of Manoj Ahiwar fits in that category.
Account of Previous Arguments
According to the reports of the interrogation of Manoj’s family members, police came to know that the accused and the victim frequently argued over simple issues. The argument happened whenever Kavita’s toddler broke out a loud cry which said to have disturbed Manoj in his NEET preparation. No one of the Ahiwar family thought that this argument would one day result in a gruesome murder.
Kavita’s Marriage and Members of the Family
According to DCP Vijay Khatri’s report, Kavita Ahiwar was married to Manoj’s brother Gajraj three years ago and the couple had a 2 years old son. They lived together in a joint family along with their parents. Gajraj was a factory worker who was not present in the crime scene. A nephew of theirs also lived under the same roof.
An insight to the Act of Murder
On Sunday afternoon Manoj sat for preparing for NEET when suddenly his 2-year-old nephew started crying. Manoj warned Kavita to shut him up and as a result Kavita argued back which angered Manoj. Around 3:30 p.m., Manoj took out a kitchen knife and brutally stabbed Kavita. Kavita died on spot. The other family members claimed that they were busy with their own household work at the time of the attack.
After committing the murder, Manoj fled from the house. Within few hours of his escape the efficient police tracked him down and arrested him Within few hours. The victim’s body was sent for post-mortem.
