In a harrowing incident reported from Bihar, 2 minor girls were gang raped by teenage boys after watching porn on phone. Number of accused in the incident are reported to be six or five, according to sources. The victims are students of class 7 and class 8 respectively. The incident was reported from Sheikhpura, Bihar.
While a Hindustan Times report is claiming that the minor girls were raped by five teenage boys, a Times of India report states that the girls were raped by four accused teenage boys. Reportedly the accused boys overpowered the girls and subjected them to the heinous cruelty, following which they paid the survivor girls Rs. 3 and Rs. 5 to not inform anyone or cause an alert.
As the accused teenage boys are minor, they are currently in the juvenile justice board (JJB) after they were sent to medical examination. The accused have been booked under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children against Sexual Offences (POCSO, Act).
The Facts of the Matter
At least 5 teenage boys (six according to certain reports) allegedly gang-raped two minor girls in Sheikhpura’s Baribigha police station. The incident occurred earlier on Sunday and the survivor to the alleged sexual assault were aged under 10 years. The victims are students of class 7 and class 8 respectively while the accused are aged between 9 to 14 years.

Dalit Survivors Were Given Rs. 3, 5 to Keep Mouth Shut
According to reports, the 9-year-old Dalit survivors had gone to a nearby farm to collect vegetables on Sunday when the accused from the same village cornered them. The accused then overpowered the survivors and gang-raped them. The accused also gave the survivors Rs. 3 and Rs. 5 to not alert anyone or inform anyone about their heinous act.
Survivors Were Shooed When Tried to Complain Accused’s Parents
After one of the survivors reached her home, she told her grandmother about the trauma she was subjected to. The grandmother took to the police station and filed a complaint about the incident. The complainant also told the police that when the survivor tried to tell the parents of one of the accused, they told her to leave and shooed her away.

Accused Between 9-12 Years of Age, One Accused 14-Year-Old
The SHO said one of the accused produced before the JJB court was aged around 14 years while the other was about 9 years old. He said the 4 other accused are also between 9 and 12 years of age. Based on the grandmother’s complaint, the police filed a case against the accused.
Teen Accused Had Watched Porn Before Committing Crime
On Monday, two of the accused were arrested and were produced before the juvenile justice board and were straight away sent to the remand home. Reportedly, the minors told the police that they had watched porn on their mobile phones and committed the heinous crime without realizing the consequences.

Accused Booked Under SC/ST Act, POCSO Act and IPC Charges
The survivors meanwhile were sent to the medical examination and their statements will be recorded before the magistrate under the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC).
According to reports, the accused have been booked under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code and Section 4, 8, 12, 18 of the POCSO Act, along with Section 325 of the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989.
