In a horrific incident caught on cam, a Chhindwara man was seen playing around with a Russel’s viper snake when he somehow lost his attention and was fatally bitten. The incident was reported from the Mankadei Khurd village which is 16 kilometers away from the Chhindwara city in Madhya Pradesh. After the man was bitten, he was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was later shifted from and was being taken to a Nagpur based hospital. However, while he was on the way to the Nagpur hospital, he succumbed to the poison bite. The entire incident was recorded on video and is since being shared on social media.

According to the National Institute for Research in Reproductive Health and Public Health Department, Maharashtra, India reported over 1 million snakebite demises from 2000-2019. The over a million deaths (1.2 million) deaths in 20 years puts an yearly average of 58,000 deaths per year. Meanwhile, according to the World Health Organization, over 54 snake bites are reported globally every year. The causes of such high number of snake bite reports are lack of awareness, increase in human territory and snakes losing its own habitat, and more.
Recently, a video of a man being fatally bitten by a venomous snake is making the rounds of social media. The video is a stark reminder to respect the animal and maintain a distance.

The Facts of the Matter
In Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh, a horrific video has emerged which shows a man right before a tragedy struck him, which later became the cause of his demise. The video shows the man casually playing around with the venomous Russel’s Viper snake. His carelessness eventually got better of him as the snake bit him in his other ham when he was not paying attention and had loosened the grip on the snake. The video was recorded by people who were witnessing the whole incident.
What Does the Video Show?
The video starts with showing a man in a black coloured jacket holding the venomous snake. The way the snake is held, it can be safely assumed that the man was no snake charmer, nor did he have training in handling of snakes. Reportedly, people watching the whole ordeal asked him to not play with the snake. Before the man could heed to the advice, things escalated.
In fraction of seconds, the snake bites the man and the man is forced to drop him to the ground. From the video it appeared that the snake bit him on his other arm between his thumb and his index finger.
The man doesn’t show any sign of pain. Little did he know that the small snake bite would be the cause of his death. Reportedly, the man’s condition worsened and a 108 Ambulance was called. The ambulance took him to the district hospital.

Man Referred to Nagpur Hospital, Succumbs to Bite On the Way
The man was later referred to a Nagpur-based hospital. Before the man could reach the hospital, he succumbed to the snake bite. According to a Dainik Bhaskar report, the man was not a snake charmer or a person trained to handle snakes. The lack of any training didn’t stop the man from playing with the snake and having himself get bitten. After the man’s death, the police filed the report and an investigation will be made into the matter.
