In a distressing incident caught on cam, a man reportedly fell to his death from an IAF chopper while he was being rescued during the ongoing Jharkhand ropeway rescue operation. The death toll in the cable car collision has now risen up to three.
The mishap occurred earlier on Sunday after ropeway cars collided with each other at the Trikut hills in Deoghar. To rescue and evacuate the stranded people in the ropeway cars, the Jharkhand administration took the help of the Indian Air Force.
On Monday, the IAF sent two choppers to accelerate the process of rescue. On Monday, while the evacuation was taking place, a person was being airlifted by an IAF chopper. However, the person ended up losing his grip of the rope and was sent plunging hundreds of meters into the forest-ridden valley.
As of last reports, at least 32 people have already been rescued among the 48 people that were left trapped inside the ropeway cars. On Monday evening the rescue operation was called off due to bad light.
The Facts of the Matter
At least 30 people have already been rescued in the Jharkhand ropeway accident case which occurred earlier on Sunday evening. Meanwhile, 14 people are reported being trapped in the cable cars mid-air that are suspended at varying heights, some being as high as about 1,500 ft.
Meanwhile, three persons have lost their lives due to the terrible tragedy. Earlier on Monday, a man was reported to have passed away after falling from one of the Indian Air Force rescue helicopters. The video of the horrific ordeal was caught on video, visuals of which are going viral on social media.

32 Rescued, 15 Still Trapped At Varying Heights
Earlier on Monday, Additional Director General of Police R. K. Mallick was quoted saying, “Thirty-two people were rescued with the help of choppers, while 15 people are still trapped mid-air in the cable cars suspended at varying heights, the maximum being nearly 1,500 feet. The rescue operation had to be stopped after sunset and will resume on Tuesday.”

Jharkhand Governor Offers Condolence
After the incident, Jharkhand Governor was quoted in a TimesNow report saying, “The accident on the ropeway built on Trikut mountain of Deoghar, a world-famous religious place, is very sad and painful. I express my deepest condolences to the families of the deceased and pray to Baba Baidyanath for the speedy recovery of the injured.”
CM and Health Minister Assures Probe Into Accident
Earlier, Health Minister Bana Gupta assured an enquiry into the accident and stated that those found guilty of negligence will have action taken against them. Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren has also ordered a probe into the matter and expressed his condolences to the family of the victims of the accident.
