In a baffling development, a Chennai boy, identified as Jayadharshan Venkatesan set a world record for solving the Rubik’s cube on a bicycle in just 14.32 seconds. Jayadharshan achieved the massive feat earlier on 28 November 2021, however its only recent that major news publications are covering his feat.
While solving Rubik’s cube quickly is in itself a note-worthy achievement, doing so in challenging circumstances, such as wearing a blindfold, or while on a bicycle is sure to turn heads, to say the least. As per the Guinness World Records website, the young boy had been “working on polishing up his speed solving skills for 2 years until he was confident that he would be able to achieve this title”.
Jayadharshan’s achievement is put under the category of “speedcubing”, where a person tries to solve the complex rube in the quickest time possible. According to reports, the record for solving the Rubik’s Cube in record time is held by Yusheng Du who solved the Cube in just 3.47 seconds.

A Chennai boy, identified as Jayadharshan Venkatasen, has reportedly set the record for solving the Rubik’s Cube while being on a bicycle in the record time of just 14.32 seconds. To put this into perspective, one must know that with every task that requires cognitive efforts, the human brain gets increasingly challenged.
The Chennai boy’s feat was shared by the Instagram page of Guinness World Records earlier today. The world records book shared a video of the young boy driving a Hercules bike with complete focus and solving a Rubik’s Cube at the same time. The video was accompanied by a caption which read, “Speedcubing on a bicycle, 14.32 secs by Jayadharshan Venkatesan”.

Netizens React to Stunning Feat
Netizens applauded the young boy’s feat in the comments section. One Instagram user rightfully noted, “I’m Shocked and Stunned”. Another netizen commented, “Ultimate focus”. A netizen also quipped, “The lad isn’t even smiling, he means business”.
According to the Guinness World Records website, the Chennai-based boy had been “working on polishing up his speed solving skills for 2 years until he was confident that he would be able to achieve this title”.
Other Fascinating Rubik’s Cube Records
Although solving a Rubik’s Cube while riding a bicycle is a feat in itself, it’s definitely not the strangest and awe-worthy record in the history. Earlier in 2018, 13-year-old Que Jianyu from China entered the records book by solving not one, not two but three Rubik’s Cube at the same time, while juggling them.
The then 13-year-old teen achieved the feat on the Guinness World Records Day 2018 and made the record in 5 mins 2.43 seconds. Earlier, he had also made it to the record books for solving three cubs with both hands and his feet. He achieved the feat in note-worthy feat in 15.84 seconds, beating the earlier record by 1.6 seconds.
