The remarkable achievement of 16-year-old Indian student, Srushti Sudhir Jagtap, hailing from the Latur district in the western Maharashtra state, has set a new Guinness world record for the longest individual dance marathon. Srushti mesmerised everyone with her performance of the traditional Indian Kathak dance style that lasted an astonishing 127 hours. The previous record of 126 hours, that was set by Nepalese dancer Bandana Nepal in 2018, was broken by Srushti. To stay awake for such extended hours, she resorted to Yoga Nidra, also known as ‘yogic sleep’.
