In a shocking incident reported from Nashik, a man who plotted his own murder with his friends to get his hands on life insurance money, got ended up being killed by the group of friends for real! The shocking case of deceit and betrayal was reported from Deolali camp, Nashik, and came to the fore earlier this week. At least 6 people, including the man’s friends who committed the murder, were arrested.

According to reports, the deceased in matter, identified as Ashok Bhalerao, was murdered earlier in September and was found at the Indiranagar jogging track. The incident was initially registered as a death due to incident. However, an FIR was registered against an motorist for killing the deceased in a hit-and-run case.

The deceased’s brother suspected foul play, and asked the police to reinvestigate the case. The police then checked the bank balance of one Mangesh Savkar, and another woman, and found huge sum deposited in their accounts.

Further investigated led the police to uncover the truth. Reportedly, the deceased and Mangesh had made a plan under which they had bought a life insurance policy in 2019. The duo had planned to kill someone, and then pass the victim as Ashok to claim the money.

When they couldn’t agree on whom to kill, Mangesh and five co-accused decided to kill Ashok himself.

The Facts of the Matter

The deceased in the matter was identified as Ashok Bhalerao, and the accused was identified as Mangesh Savkar, along with 5 others.

Deceased Found Dead, Police Register Case

As per the cops involved in the case’s investigation, one Ashok Bhalerao was found dead in Nashik’s Indiranagar Jogging Park earlier in September this year. The police had initially registered a case of death due to accident in the matter. However, with some preliminary investigation, the cops filed an FIR against an unidentified person causing Bhalerao’s death in a hit-and-run case.

Brother Seeks Re-Investigation

Things took a drastic turn, when the deceased’s brother Deepak took to the cops, and asked them to re-investigate the case, suspecting foul play and murder. The police accepted Deepak’s request and the case was investigated again.

The police had earlier been approached by one Mangesh Savkar, and another woman, who had claimed to be the deceased’s brother and wife. They had met the police to complete certain formalities.

Shocking Truth Uncovered

When the police checked their bank accounts, they found huge sum of money deposited in their bank accounts. Further investigation led the cops to four other people who were involved in the mysterious death of Ashok.

A TOI report quoted DCP Kirankumar Chavan saying, “Bhalerao and Savkar had hatched a plan in 2018 or a year later under which they bought an insurance policy in the former’s name from 2019. The conspiracy was to kill someone in an accident and pass off the victim as Bhalerao and claim the insurance money.”

Deceased Killed for Rs 4 Crore Term Insurance

The DCP further mentioned that as the duo couldn’t zero down on whom to murder to get the insurance money, Mangesh decided to kill Ashok himself. He, along with other co-accused in the matter, executed the plan in September.

The deceased had bought a term insurance plan worth Rs 4 crores.
