In Noida, two brothers were held for murdering their sister, and then filing a missing complaint to mislead the cops. The accused committed the heinous crime all in the name of “protecting family honor” and dumped their deceased sister’s body in the Hindon River. The incident was reported from Noida’s Gautam Buddha Nagar and the accused were identified as Sartaj and Shahrukh, residents of Noida Phase 2.
The victim in the matter was identified as Nazma. The matter came to the fore when Nazma’s body was found floating in the Hindon river near Chaar Murti roundabout under Ecotech-3 police station jurisdiction on March 13th. A post-mortem examination revealed that the woman died of strangulation about five days prior to the discovery of the body.
The very next day, Sartaj reported his sister Nazma missing at Surajpur police station, stating that she had been missing for the past five days. Upon further investigation, the police suspected the two brothers to be behind the killing.
The duo were unhappy with Nazma’s alleged drinking habit and her failed marriage, and decided to take the law into their own hands.
The accused have been arrested under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code and sent to judicial custody.

In India, killings due to societal norms and family expectations are more common than one would like to imagine or assume. From the national capital to the farthest corner of the nation, women and men are often killed by their own family members for failing to meet societal norms and choosing to live their life their own way
In one such incident, a woman in Nodia was slain by her own brothers, after they were unhappy with her habit of indulging in alcohol and having failed marriage. The accused in the matter were identified as Sartaj and Shahrukh.
Sartaj and Shahrukh reportedly strangled their own sister Nazma, and then dumped her body in the Hindon River.
Woman’s Body Discovered in Hindon River
On Monday, police announced the arrest of two brothers from Greater Noida for the brutal murder of their 20-year-old sister. The young woman’s body was discovered floating in the Hindon River on March 13th, prompting an investigation into her disappearance. The brothers, Shahrukh and Sartaj, were identified as suspects and taken into custody for questioning.
Brothers were Unhappy with Sister’s Way of Life
During the investigation, police discovered that the brothers were unhappy with their sister’s alleged drinking habit and failed marriage. They reportedly strangled her with her own dupatta before dumping her body in the river. The autopsy revealed that the young woman had been dead for about five days before her body was found.

Filing Missing Complaint After Murdering Sis
The brothers had initially reported the young woman missing, but police grew suspicious when the brothers appeared to be withholding information during questioning. The siblings eventually confessed to the crime, admitting that they had killed their sister out of anger and frustration.

The Murder As It Happened
The victim had been married for several years but was living separately from her husband. She had reportedly been struggling with alcohol abuse, which had strained her relationships with her family members. The brothers claimed that they had killed her in a fit of rage after finding her drunk in a public place.
The suspects have been charged with murder under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code and have been remanded to judicial custody.
