A nurse, and her husband have been arrested in the case of theft of cash and jewellery worth Rs. 2.4 crores from Sonam Kapoor’s New Delhi Residence. The accused have been identified as Aparna Ruth Wilson and her husband Naresh Sagar.
Reportedly, the accused woman worked as a care taker and helped Sonam Kapoor’s mother-in-law. Aparna Ruth was among the over 20 persons that were employed at Kapoor’s residence at various positions.
Meanwhile, the co-accused works as an accountant in a Shakarpur-based private firm. After being detained, the accused confessed to their crimes during the questioning. So far, the stolen jewellery and the cash have not been recovered.
For the unversed, the theft occurred sometime around February 11 and a case was registered regarding the same on February 23 at the Tughlaq Road Police Station. The theft was first discovered by grandmother of Anand Ahuja the husband of Sonam Kapoor.
The case is currently with the New Delhi district’s Special Staff Branch.

Just days after it was reported that Sonam Kapoor’s New Delhi residence was robbed, a major breakthrough has been made in the case. The police have arrested a woman, who was employed at the residence, and her husband, who works as an accountant. The two accused have confessed to stealing cash and jewellery worth Rs. 2.4 crores from Kapoor’s New Delhi residence.

Meet the Accused Who Robbed Sonam & Anand Ahuja’s Residence
The accused have been identified as 31-year-old Aparna Ruth Wilson and her 31-year-old husband, Naresh Sagar. According to the police, Aparna worked as a nurse at Kapoor’s residence located at Amrita Shergill Marg and took care of the mother of Anand Ahuja, husband of Sonam Kapoor. Her husband works at a Shakarpur-based firm.
Raids Conducted in Sarita Vihar
A senior police official was quoted by Press Trust of India saying, “The Delhi Police Crime Branch along with a team of the Special Staff Branch of the New Delhi district conducted a raid in Sarita Vihar on Tuesday night. They apprehended Wilson and her husband”. The police official further added that the two accused confessed to the crime.

Cash, Jewellery Still Unrecovered, Case Transferred
While the accused have been arrested, the stolen cash and jewellery have not been recovered yet. Earlier, the police registered a case under multiple sections of the IPC which included Section 381 (theft by a servant of property in possession of master) and more.
Owing to the high-profile nature of the case, the Tughlaq Road police station transferred the case to the Special Staff Branch, New Delhi district. Personnel from the crime branch are also currently investigating the matter.

A Look Back at the Entire Saga
For the unversed, earlier on April 10, it was reported that the Bollywood actor’s residence was robbed. The complaint was made earlier on February 23 and the incident actually took place earlier on February 11.
Regarding the matter, Deputy Commissioner of Police Amrutha Guguloth was quoted in an Indian Express report saying, “We received a complaint from the family alleging that cash and jewellery worth Rs 2.4 crore had been stolen. They noticed it on February 11, but lodged a formal police complaint on February 23. Our staff immediately registered an FIR the same day. Teams have been formed, and an examination of the evidence is underway.”
The Delhi Police was reported to be questioning Kapoor and Anand’s staff. As many as 25 employees, including 9 caretaking staff, drivers, gardeners and more were questioned by the Delhi Police. CCTV footages was analyzed and the Forensic Science Laboratory was also involved to nab the culprits.
