Bollywood actor Sonam Kapoor and husband Anand Ahuja’s New Delhi residence was recently robbed with cash and jewellery worth Rs. 1.41 crores reported stolen. The robbery took place earlier in February and the case was not made public due to its high-profile nature. It should be noted that Sonam Kapoor’s mother-in-law Priya Ahuja was the one who filed a complaint at the Tughlaq Road police station.
Reportedly, the case is currently under investigation and the police is questioning the entire staff who worked at the Kapoor-Ahuja residence as caretakers, drivers, and more. The couple’s residence is located at the Amrita Shergill Marg in New Delhi. The residence is occupied by Sonam’s father-in-law Harish Ahuja and wife Priya Ahuja with Harish Ahuja’s mother Sarla Ahuja.
Earlier on February 11, Priya Ahuja was shocked to realize that her house was robbed after she checked cupboards and found some jewellery and cash missing.
While Sonam Kapoor and husband Anand Ahuja are expecting their first child, their family are facing some turbulent times. Earlier this year it was reported that Sonam Kapoor’s father-in-law was duped of Rs. 27 crores in highly-sophisticated cybercrime.
The Facts of the Matter
Weeks after it was reported that Sonam Kapoor’s father-in-law Harish Ahuja’s firm Shahi Export Factory was duped of Rs. 27 crores, another shocking incident is reported from the Kapoor-Ahuja family. According to reports, Sonam Kapoor and husband Anand Ahuja’s New Delhi residence was earlier this year robbed of Rs. 1.41 crores.
As per report of leading entertainment daily Pinkvilla, it was Sonam’s mother-in-law Priya Ahuja who first realized their residence being robbed and took to the Tughlaq Road police station to file a complaint. Although robbery took place earlier in February, the police chose to keep the case private due to its high-profile nature.

Employees, Caretakers, Gardeners Being Probed
Soon, multiple teams were formed for investigation that still continues. So far, the investigators are probing the staff that works or is known to have worked at the robbed residence. This includes 25 employees, 9 caretakers, and a slew of drivers, Gardeners and miscellaneous workers. The police has also involved the FSL (Forensic Science Laboratory) to collect the evidence and scrutinize it carefully.

Anand Ahuja’s Grandmother First Got Inkling of Being Robbed
According to reports, the house is currently occupied by Sonam Kapoor’s father-in-law Harish Ahuja, his wife Priya Ahuja and Sonam’s grandmother-in-law Sarla Ahuja. According to reports, back on February 11, Sarla Ahuja found out about their residence being robbed after she found some jewellery and cash missing in her cupboards.
No Suspects Ascertained As of Yet
Twelve days later, the Ahuja’s filed a complaint at the Tughlaq Road police station. The Delhi Police quickly swung into action and has been investigating the case. The officers are also analyzing the CCTV footage for the last one year to make sure not to miss out on a suspect.
Sonam Kapoor’s Father-in-Law’s Company Also Duped
Earlier this year, Sonam Kapoor’s father-in-law Harish Ahuja’s company Shahi Exports was reported to have been duped of Rs. 27 crores. The case was that of July 2021 and it took police over eight months to nab the culprits. Reportedly, as many as 10 accused were arrested by the authorities from different corners of the country including Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi and Karnataka. The accused committed a highly sophisticated cyber-crime where they misappropriated taxes by forging digital signatures.
Similarly, earlier in March, power-couple Victoria and Beckham’s residence was robbed as they slept unaware. On initial investigation it was revealed that the accused robbers took designer items and tech gadgets worth “thousands of pounds”.
