Following multiple delays, Tata Group has officially unveiled their most awaited app ‘Neu.’ It is likely to be a “super app” that integrates Tata’s customer-facing holdings such as BigBasket, 1mg, Croma, flight booking services, Tanishq, Titan and Tata Cliq. Here’s the important detail that you should know about the Super app and how it differs from other super applications.

Details

The Tata Neu app was first made available in October 2021 to a small group of users, primarily Tata personnel.  Tata Digital Limited introduced the Tata Neu app on 7th April, which has recently had over 5 lakh downloads on Android. Air Asia, BigBasket, Croma, IHCL, Qmin, Starbucks, Tata 1Mg, Tata Cliq, Tata Play, and Westside are among the brands now available on the app.

Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekaran stated at the inaugural event, “Our goal is to enable the lives of Indian users to seamless and simpler.” The Tata Group is dedicated to shifting businesses to the digital realm and, from the consumer perspective, integrating them collectively into a cohesive platform that provides an unparalleled journey.

To publicize the super app, the group is endorsing Tata Neu in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL), in which Tata’s is the title sponsor.

Tata Neu Offers Multiple Services

Tata Neu now incorporates the majority of Tata-owned services, allowing customers to purchase anything and everything they wish, including groceries, electronics, mobile phones, clothes, beauty goods, booking flights and hotels, ordering food and medicines, watching movies, and shows, and so much more.

Moreover, people can monitor and pay their electricity, cellphone, DTH, broadband, and other bills, and also recharges and other services, everything in one place. Apart from this, sending money to friends, family members, or contacts straight to their bank accounts can be made from the user’s bank account via Tata Pay UPI.

What is ‘NeuCoins’?

Tata Neu also has a rewards scheme in place, with buyers receiving ‘NeuCoins’ for every purchase made through the portal. Furthermore, as per the app, the worth of NeuCoins will be equal to one rupee (1 NeuCoin = Re 1) and can be employed as currency when initiating a transaction.

What is NeuPass?

NeuPass is a special membership-like offering, identical to Amazon Prime or Flipkart Plus membership. It is presently marked as ‘Coming Soon.’ Moreover, the app assures that subscribers will receive additional perks and bonuses.

What is Tata Pay?

Tata also unveiled Tata Pay, a UPI-based payment method identical to Amazon Pay, GPay, or BHIM. The service operates similarly to the other UPI payment apps, allowing consumers to send money, initiate payments using a phone number, or scan a QR code.

JioMart is Also Planning For the Super app

Other businesses, including Amazon, Paytm, and Reliance Jio, have previously established their own super apps that offer features like payments, entertainment streaming, shopping, trip bookings, and grocery. The Mukesh Ambani-owned Reliance Industries’ JioMart is also planning to enter the super app market.
