In an extremely unusual turn of events reported from Telangana, two drinking buddies ended up tying knot in a drunken haze. However, situation escalated when a police complaint was filed by the ‘husband’ who alleged that his partner had ‘deserted him’ after getting sober. The weird turn of events came to its equally strange end when one of the parties promised Rs. 10,000 to the other one and later, the “marriage” between the two men was declared null and void.
According to reports, about 15 days ago, an auto-driver and his 21-year-old drinking buddy got married in a local temple. Their married life was instantly turned upside down when the auto-driver’s drinking buddy and now husband, came to his home and sought to lead a married life with the auto-driver. The news about the strange demand spread across like a wildfire.
The 21-year-old then took to the police station and filed a complaint against the auto-driver for not letting him lead a married life. When elders tried to intervene, the 21-year-old asked for Rs. 1 lakh to withdraw the complaint.
The Facts of the Matter
We often see two men getting married after getting sloshed in sitcoms and outlandish comedies. However, a similar incident was reported in Telangana’s Medak district when a 21-year-old man tied knot with his drinking buddy and then filed a police complaint.
The Chilipched police were flabbergasted to receive the complaint of a 21-year-old man who alleged that his 22-year-old husband, with whom he got married in drunken haze, is not allowing him to live with him as his married partner.

Police Baffled on Receiving Strange Complaint
The police officers were confused. They couldn’t truly ignore the 21-year-old complainant just because they never handled such a case. The police decided to collect all the facts regarding the matter. It was soon revealed that an auto driver from Chandoor befriended the complainant.
Soon, after becoming friends, the two became drinking buddies. During one such drunken escapades, the auto-driver reportedly took the complainant to a local temple and got married to him. Following the “marriage”, the two retreated to their homes.

Bubble of Intoxication Breaks, Man Shows Up at ‘Husband’s Home
The next morning, the bubble of intoxication broke and both sobered up. However, for the 21-year-old complainant, their marriage was real. He reached to his ‘husband’s’ home and demanded to lead a married life with him. He also told the auto-driver’s family about their ‘marriage’.
Family Don’t Agree to 21-Year-Old’s Demand
When the auto-driver’s family inquired him as to what the 21-year-old friend of his was talking about, the man merely shrugged it off and stated that he often met him to drink with him. He also didn’t deny the ‘marriage’ that took place. But he and his family both didn’t allow the 21-year-old man to live with at their residence.
Complaint Filed, Rs.1 Lakh Demanded
It was then that the 21-year-old man took to the police and filed a complaint. When the family and the elders of the locality tried to convince the youth to leave peacefully, the complainant demanded Rs. 1 lakh to take back the police complaint.

How the Matter Finally Got Resolved?
According to a TOI report, the matter was put to a rest after the elders intervened and paid the complainant a sum of Rs. 10,000 to take back the complaint. Sub inspector Mohammed Ghouse was quoted in a TOI report saying, “Families of both sides were intimated about the issue. They discussed it among themselves and resolved it.” Police further stated that the 21-year-old complainant was unemployed and used to do odds job to make a living.
