Two Haryana engineers quit their engineering jobs to sell biryani. They have claimed to be earning more and are happier than ever before. Like many, the two engineers, Rohit and Sachin were unhappy with their 9 to 5 hustle. However, unlike many, they chose to back their skills and decided to do away with the cushion of a job and took to the Sonipat streets to sell biryani.

Interestingly, they have claimed that despite selling their biryani for Rs. 50 and Rs. 70 for a half and a full plate respectively, they have been earning more than their jobs. Moreover, keeping in mind the need of a modern foodie, the two engineers have stated that their biryani is good for gym goers and people who want to keep their diet on a check.

Rohit and Sachin’s biryani stall is called ‘Engineer’s Biryani’ and is often spotted in the poshest areas of Panipat, among other regions.

The Facts of the Matter

Thanks to the boom in IT-sector in the past few years, millions of Indian youths decided to future-proof their career and decided to become an IT professional. However, due to a mismatch between supply and demand, the same IT professionals today are either unemployed or working for less than what they feel they are entitled to.

In such a situation, employees are left with only so many options. Either they are forced to continue working at a relatively low pay scale, and hope that their experience will help them get the salary they deserve, or step out of herd and do something on their own.
