The three-day Jagannath Rath Yatra from June 9 to June 11 spread a message of peace and harmony. To join in the festivities, people gathered at Tompkins Square Park for chanting and Times Square for kirtan. The joyous dancing and singing in the usually busy Times Square created a sense of tranquility, and the chariots of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balarama, and Lady Subhadra were carried through the streets of NYC as the procession paraded its way through, accompanied by music and dancing. This symbolised the journey of divine love.
