A tragic incident was captured on CCTV camera in a gym in Ghaziabad’s Saraswati Vihar area on Saturday morning, where a 21-year-old man  (some news media reported age 19) collapsed and died of a suspected heart attack while running on a treadmill.

The deceased has been identified as Siddharth Kumar Singh, a first-year engineering student living in Noida. Siddharth was the only child of his parents.

The video shows Siddharth suddenly stopping on the treadmill and losing consciousness before collapsing on the machine. Two other gym members quickly rush over to check on Siddharth and try to revive him, but unfortunately he could not be saved.

Spoke to Mother Minutes Before Incident

Siddharth had spoken to his mother around 10 minutes before the fatal incident. After collapsing, he was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival. Doctors said he seemed to have suffered cardiac arrest.

Family Takes Body to Native Village

Siddharth’s family declined an autopsy and took his body to their native village in Bihar’s Siwan. The shocking incident has sparked concerns over underlying heart conditions going undetected in young people and the importance of safety precautions during exercise.

Second Incident in Months

This comes just months after the sudden death of comedian Raju Srivastava while working out at the gym, which was also caused by a heart attack. With rising instances of young people collapsing while exercising, health experts emphasize regular checkups to identify any lurking health risks.
