Farhan Akhtar Ties Knot with Longtime Girlfriend Shibani Dandekar

On Saturday, Bollywood actor, producer & singer Farhan Akhtar tied knot with longtime girlfriend Shibani Dandekar. The coupe began their wedding festivities earlier this week with multiple functions that were held in the company of their near and dear ones. Theirs was a small and intimate affair like many popular celebrities that got married recently.

For the wedding, Farhan wore a classic James Bond-esque tuxedo. He also paired his wedding outfit with a pair of dapper sunglasses. Meanwhile, his bride Shibani a red coloured gown. Pictures emerging from the wedding venue show the couple looking oh-so—in-love with gorgeous and minimalist red coloured décor in the background. The wedding festivities included Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan, filmmaker Ashutosh Gowarikar, and Ehsaan Noorani of composer trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.

The wedding bells are ringing loud in the nation and the entertainment industry is also seeing unions of high-profile celebrities. On Saturday, Bollywood actor and producer Farhan Akhtar tied knot with his longtime girlfriend Shibani Dandekar. The couple’s relationship can be traced back to 2018 when they made their first public appearance after dating without raising suspicion.

Hrithik Roshan Grooves with Farhan Akhtar on ‘Dil Chahta Hai’

While the couple chose to have the wedding without the presence of media, a few videos of the joyous celebration have emerged. In one of the videos, Farhan and his newlywed wife Shibani can be seen grooving on the Dil Chahta Hai title track. One can also see Hrithik Roshan grooving with the couple while Shibani can be seen beaming with joy. The title track was sung in person by the original singer Shankar Mahadevan at the venue.

What the Couple Wore on their Wedding Day?

In other images gone viral, the Rock On actor looked the perfect groom with a black coloured tuxedo. The Zindagi Na Miegi Dobara actor chose to complete his look with a stylish pair of sunglasses. Meanwhile, Shibani chose to wear a classic red-coloured off-shoulder gown. She also completed her bridal look in a unique way – by pairing it up with a red coloured veil. The images also show a glimpse of the venue which looked lavish yet minimalistic.

‘Mehendi Laga ke Rakhna’: Videos of Mehendi Celebration Go Viral

Earlier a few visuals from Farhan & Shibani’s pre-wedding celebrations went viral on social media platforms. In one of the videos that captured the mehendi & sangeet celebration, Shibani’s friends and family were seen dancing to ‘Mehendi Laga ke Rakhna’.

Javed Akhtar Confirmed the Couple’s Wedding

Earlier, it was lyricist and screenplay writer Javed Akhtar who confirmed Shibani & Farhan’s wedding. The veteran writer spoke to Bombay Times and was quoted saying, “”Yes, the wedding is taking place. Rest, shaadi ki taiyyariyan hain that is being taken care of by the wedding planners. Taking the situation into consideration it is obvious that we cannot host anything on a large scale. So, we are only calling a few people. It will be a very simple affair.”

When asked about Farhan’s to-be wife, Mr. Akhtar replied, “She is a very nice girl. All of us like her very much. The most important thing is that Farhan and she get along very well, which is great.”

Farhan’s First Wedding and His Relationship with Shibani

For the unversed, this is Farhan’s second marriage. Earlier, he was married to Adhuna Bhabani. The couple had tied the knot back in 2000 and had called it quits after 16 years of their marriage. In 2017, the couple announced their divorce.

While it has never been revealed as to when Farhan and Shibani made their relationship official, they made their public appearance in 2018. The couple’s appearance at the wedding reception of Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh made all the buzz.

Since then, the couple has actively put their pictures on their respective social media accounts.
