A video of a giraffe chewing on a bone has recently risen up to the surface of the internet. Historically, giraffes have been herbivores, and have been known to rip leaves off of tall trees with their long necks. However, it has come to attention that some giraffes have been yearning for phosphorus, which is found in bones. IFS officer Susanta Nanda recently posted a video of a giraffe munching away on a bone, with the caption: “Nature is amazing [sic]”.
Giraffes are herbivores & use their long necks to reach the leaves & buds in the tree top. They have evolved that way.
But sometimes chew & eat bones to get phosphorus. Nature is amazing. https://t.co/Llw6bHRj9I pic.twitter.com/VkICSn1lin
