Known for his romantic comedies, his wit behind the screens and his business acumen, Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan is now the highest paid actor in Bollywood. He is charging Rs. 100 crores for Pathan that’s backed by Yash Raj Film Production. SRK is known for charging stupendous amount of money for product endorsements event performances and more. But this is the first time a Bollywood actor would be charging an amount to star in a film which can be used to produce the film in its entirety.

Pathan is an action-thriller directed by Siddharth Anand who also directed War starring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff. The film also stars Deepika Padukone who made her debut with SRK in Farah Khan’s Om Shanti Om along with John Abraham. Although the news of SRK starring Rs. 100-crores is not confirmed, the news was broken by media outlet Spotboye that is more correct than wrong about news such as this.

The film is slated to be released in 2022 and went on the floors in November 2020. The film will also see Bollywood actor and Shah Rukh’s arch rival Salman Khan making an appearance in a cameo. According to reports, Salman started shooting for his part of the role after completing shooting for Bigg Boss 14.

Shah Rukh Khan’s last big-screen appearance came with Aanand L. Rai’s Zero which tanked at box office as it received negative critical and audience reviews. It shouldn’t come to anyone’s surprise that he has charged a whopping remuneration fee for Pathan. The reason being, it would be his first film after his sabbatical and would be released in a COVID-19 recovering world where people would be shelling out money to see their favourite actor on the big screen after a long time.
