In an incident of exceptional bravery caught on cam, a hero in the guise of a firefighter climbed up six floors from outside the building with his bare hands to save a girl who was dangling from the sixth-floor window. Thanks to the heroics of the firefighter, identified as An Peng, his 5-year-old neighbour was rescued and got a second-wind to her life. The hair-raising video of the incident was shared online by People’s Daily Online.
The video shows the little girl hanging on to hear dear life by gripping a window grille. She dangles precariously for several moments till Pen somehow reaches near her and gets hold of her. After his heroics, he was interviewed by People’s Daily Online.
During his interview, Mr. An Peng told the reporters that as the space between the railings was wide, the 5-year-old child could have easily fallen. Seeing the wide gap, he decided to not waste time and act instantaneously.
The incident comes just a few weeks after a similar incident was reported from Kazakhstan. A man rescued a 3-year-old girl who was dangling from the eighth-floor window by clinging himself out of the window of another apartment.

Action movies across the world have a few common tropes that never get old. One of the trope is that of a child, man or woman dangling from the window or ledge of a room. Their dangling feet cuts through thin air and the only hope is the hero who somehow with his might and mind, rescues the helpless.
Recently, reality imitated fiction when a Chinese firefighter hero climbed up to six floors with his bare hands to save a 5-year-old girl who was dangling from the window. The incident was reported from Qinyuan Community, Shuozhou, Shanxi province in China. The visuals of the entire ordeal were caught on camera, and are currently going viral on Twitter.

What Does the Video Show?
In the video gone viral, a girl can be seen precariously hanging out of the sixth floor of an apartment building. Somehow a man rushed to the scene of action and climbed from the building’s first floor to the sixth floor with his bare hands, without any harness or safety equipment. The man clings on to rail with his one hand and holds on the five-year-old crying girl with his other hand.
Reports confirmed that the girl was brought down to her safety by the firefighter.

Hero Firefighter Gives Account of Incident
According to reports, Peng heard the girl’s cries and decided to check on the matter. On seeing the girl’s life hanging by the thread, he decided to waste not a moment. In his interview to People’s Daily Online, Peng claimed that there was a lot of space between the railings and the girl could have fallen in no time. Considering the odds against the little girl, the man decided to the take matter in his own hand. “If she fell out of the window, the family would have been ruined, so I climbed to the window to hold onto her,” he was quoted saying.
