In what can truly be called a lucky break, a US man who was out to collect his Rs 46,000 lottery prize was shocked to find out that he had actually won a sum of whopping Rs. 4.5 crores. The lucky man has been identified as Joshua Locklear.
Mr. Joshua reportedly spent Rs. 778 ($10) for a lottery ticket at his local mart and was ecstatic to find out that he won Rs 46,000 ($600). Little did he know that his joy was to grow multifold as he had actually won the prize money of almost $600,000 (approximately Rs. 4.5 crores). The 32-year-old lucky man is a Pembroke, North Carolina resident.
Mr. Joshua reportedly brought the Cash Fast Play lottery ticket and realized that the jackpot had hit the sum of almost $6,00,000. He told local media that initially while studying the ticket, he presumed that he had won $600. He scanned the ticket and received a message which told him to collect the prize money at the local lottery headquarters.
At the headquarters, he was shocked to find out that he had won the jackpot. He was quoted in local reports saying, “When I heard, I was like, ‘There’s no possible way I actually hit the jackpot’. I couldn’t believe it.”

32-year-old Joshua Locklear arrived at the lottery headquarters with the exciting prospect of collecting his $600 (Rs. 46,000) prize money. He left the headquarters with close to a thousand times the prize money he presumed he won. Locklear had reportedly won $5,85,949 (Rs. 4.5 crores).
Winning Rs. 4.5 Crs on a Rs. 778 Ticket
Talking to the North Carolina Education Lottery officials, Joshua said that he bought a measly $10 (Rs. 778) worth Cash Fast Play ticket at a local mini mart after he got his eyes on the final jackpot prize. Shortly, he received a message telling him to collect his prize money. Thinking that he won $600, Mr. Locklear strutted his way to the headquarters to collect the prize.

“I couldn’t believe it”: Joshua on his Winnings
According to reports, Joshua initially read the ticket and presumed that he won $600. At the headquarters, he was shocked and ecstatic to find out that his prize money had been up to almost $6,00,000. “When I heard, I was like, ‘There’s no possible way I actually hit the jackpot’. I couldn’t believe it,” he was quoted saying.

Joshua Plans to Give Back to Community
Talking more about his win, Mr. Locklear said, “I really wasn’t expecting that, that’s for sure. It really did come at the right time though.”
A good samaritan, Locklear plans to give some portion of his winnings back to community. However, as they say, charity begins at home. He also plans to use the money to get himself a nice home and a car.
