Earlier on Thursday, Mahima Chaudhary opened up about her cancer journey, where veteran actor Anupam Kher called her a ‘hero’. On Thursday, Anupam Kher shared an empowering video featuring Mahima Chaudhry where the latter spoke about her struggles and triumphs as a cancer patient.

Kher also wrote an emotional caption along with the video and wrote – “She calls me an eternal optimist but dearest Mahima! “You are my HERO!” Friends! Send her your love, warmth, wishes, prayers and blessings. She is BACK on sets where she belongs. She is ready to fly. All those producers/directors out there! Here is your opportunity to tap on her brilliance!”.

In her interview with ETimes, Mahima spilled beans about her latest project which features both Anupam Kher and Annu Kapoor. The film is directed by Gajendra Ahire, a Marathi filmmaker. Not letting her diagnosis bog her down, Mahima also revealed that she will be flying to Mumbai later this week to celebrate her daughter Ariana’s birthday.

It should be noted that Anupam Kher’s video announcing Mahima Chaudhary’s cancer diagnosis has caught the entire Indian industry and its followers, in a state of shock. “I haven’t shared my diagnosis with my parents. They will hear about it on the news now. I want to get back and be with them,” the Pardes actor said to ETimes.

Thanks to social media, now survivors of terminal diseases can find comfort and encouragement by their followers. Moreover, these survivors are now harnessing the power of social media, to cut through the stigma associated with complicated diseases, and are speaking more freely about it. Earlier last month, influencer and actress Chhavi Mittal was rocking social media by her cancer awareness related posts, following being diagnosed with breast cancer.

Mahima Chaudhary Shocks Fans

Now, Bollywood actress Mahima Chaudhary recently announced being a cancer survivor. Her announcement was unique, as veteran actor Anupam Kher himself took to Instagram and shared a video of Mahima speaking about her journey as a cancer survivor.

In the video, the Dhadkan actress shared how she has been in US for her breast cancer treatment. In the video, it is also revealed how Mahima told Kher about the news after the latter offered a role in a film. Mahima broke the news of being diagnosed with cancer, and asked him if she can wear a wig for the shoot.

Keeping Cancer Diagnosis a Secret

She further added that she kept the news of being diagnosed with cancer and being treated for the same a secret even from her mother. She also thanked Anupam Kher for being a pillar of strength.
