A tragic news has surfaced from the world of entertainment. Shahnawaz Pradhan, veteran Indian television and film actor, who played parts in ‘Mirzapur’, ‘Byomkesh Bakshi’, and more, recently died in Mumbai. The ‘Raees’ actor died due to heart attack. The actor’s death was confirmed by ‘Lagaan’ film actor Yashpal Sharma, who took to Instagram and shared an elaborate tribute for the deceased actor.

“Today attended this program in Mumbai … Everything was going great … Ridz Dime Darrell ji’s and hundreds of artists were present but shortly after receiving the award our beloved artist Shahnawaz had an attack … The whole program stopped, and with the help of the people and the doctor, picked him up and took him to Kokila Ben Hospital which was the closest, but no one could save him as he passed away..”, the actor’s tribute read.

Delhi Crime and Mirzapur actor Rajesh Tailang also paid tribute to the late actor, and wrote, “Shahnawaz bhai aakhiri salaam !!! Kya gazab ke zaheen insaan aur kitne behatar adaakar the aap. Mirzapur ke dauran kitna sundar waqt guzara aapke saath, Yaqeen nahin ho raha 💐🙏#purushram #mirzapur.”

Shahnawaz Pradhan played several character roles in films that included MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, Raees, and more. He was also seen in shows such as 24, The Family Man, among others.

The Facts of the Matter

Days after ‘Lagaan’, and ‘Chak De! India’ actor Javed Khan Amrohi died at 60, the Indian entertainment industry lost another popular actor Shahnawaz Pradhan. His death was confirmed by his co-actor Yashpal Sharma, who took to social media, and gave more details about the final moments of the Mirzapur actor.

Shahnawaz Pradhan was At an Award Function

According to Yashpal Sharma, the actor in his late 50s complained of severe chest pain, and immediately fell unconscious after suffering from a heart attack. He was at an award function when the incident took place. In his Instagram post, Sharma wrote that Shahnawaz was rushed to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital but couldn’t be revived. Reportedly, Sharma was also present at the event.

“Shahnawaz Pradhan complained of severe chest pain, fell unconscious and suffered a heart attack during an award function in Mumbai on Friday evening. He was immediately rushed to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital but the doctors couldn’t revive him. Yashpal Sharma, who was also present at the event, shared a note on Instagram detailing the incident,” Sharma’s Instagram post read.

Actors Mourn Shahnawaz’s Demise

Pradhan was also mourned by Delhi Crime actor Rajesh Tailang, Tailang was also a co-actor with Pradhan in the Amazon Prime Video series Mirzapur. “Shahnawaz bhai aakhiri salaam !!! Several prominent actors such as Anup Soni, Rohitash Gour, and others also offered their condolences. Further, Cine And TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA), also took to Twitter to mourn the actor’s demise, adding that his last rites will take place at 12.30 pm in Khoja Shia Ishna Ashari Jamaat Arambaug, Mazgaon, Mumbai.

Had a Bypass Surgery Few Months Ago

According to reports, TV actor Surbhi Tiwari was also present at the same hospital and was tending to her brother who was being treated. In her interview with Navbharat Times, she claimed that she saw Shahnawaz being rushed into a room on a stretcher. She said that the actor’s heart was not responding to any treatment and also added that he had a bypass surgery a few months ago.
