Ola Electric woes continue as a frustrated man from Maharashtra tied his ola scooter to a donkey and paraded it around. The man’s unique protest came after he remained unsatisfied with the company’s responses and actions. According to reports, the unsatisfied customer has been identified as Sachin Gitte and he conducted his one-of-a-kind protest in Beed district, Maharashtra.
According to reports, Mr. Gitte bought an Ola electric scooter which was delivered to him back on March 24. Prior to having his scooter delivered, Mr. Gitte made an initial payment of Rs. 20,000 in September 2021 and made the final payment of Rs. 65,000 earlier this year.
His excitement of driving around his brand-new electric scooter soon fizzled out when the scooter stopped working in just six days. Like any concerned customer, Mr. Gitte raised a complaint and Ola sent a mechanic to fix the scooter. However, even after the mechanic’s intervention the two-wheeler wasn’t fixed. He also reached out to the customer care, and ended up receiving some vague answers.
Irritated by the company’s responses, Mr. Gitte held the unique protest earlier last Sunday.
The Facts of the Matter
In March 2021, Ola Electric Mobility Pvt. Ltd was reported to be entering into electric vehicle segment and was going to build the world’s largest e-scooter factory in Tamil Nadu’s Krishnagiri district.
Fast forward one year and the company’s foray into electric vehicle has been “explosive”, for the lack of a better word. In the past few months, there have been several reports of its electric scooter catching fire randomly.
