In a twisted turn of events, Shark Tank India’s shark Ashneer Grover insulted a contestant’s fashion brand. However, the contestant had the last laugh when Ashneer’s wife wore the same brand’s dress in the Kapil Sharma Show. The contestant, Niti Singhal had appeared on the show seeking investment for her ‘Twee In One’.
However, she failed to get investment from either of the ‘sharks’ that appear on the show. While some sharks offered valuable pieces of feedback to young Niti Singhal, Ashneer Grover threw the caution out of the window. Grover called Niti’s brand out and had said, “Bohot hi ganda fashion hai yeh, koi nahi pehanne wala (these are really bad designs, no one is going to wear them)”. However, Niti recently took to Instagram where she called Ashneer out and claimed that his wife wore a dress from her brand during her appearance at The Kapil Sharma Show.
The Facts of the Matter
“Bilkul bakwas hai yeh, aap band kar do isey (This is absolutely rubbish, please shut this down)!”
“Ye sab doglapan hai. Ab main tera doglapan utarunga (This is hypocrisy. Now I’m going to reveal your hypocrisy).”
“Isse vahiyat product zindagi mein na dekha hai, na dekhna chaunga (I’ve never seen such a horrible product in my life, nor do I wish to see it ever again)”
These are just some of the responses given by BharatPe co-founder Ashneer Grover who is the ‘shark’ in reality show Shark Tank India. He, along with Industry leading business heads such as Peeyush Goyal (LensKart), Aman Gupta (boAT), and more hear pitches by entrepreneurs in India, and decide whether they want to invest in their businesses or not.
Niti Singhal and Twee-in-One Brand
While other ‘sharks’ steer clear from controversy, Ashneer is known for his no-holds barred feedback, that can be a reality check at best, and an insulting rendezvous at worst for the pitchers. One such pitcher, Niti Singhal appeared in the show recently to seek investment for her ‘sustainable and convertible ’Twee in One’ brand.

“Bohot Ganda Fashion Hai”: Ashneer Grover’s Tough Words
During the show, Niti had to swallow some tough words by Ashneer who dissed her fashion choice and her brand. With a grim look on his face, Ashneer went on a rant where he was quoted saying, “Bohot hi ganda fashion hai yeh, koi nahi pehanne wala. Mujhe lagta hai aap bandh kar do. Kyu aap apna time waste kar rahe ho (These are some bad designs. No one is going to wear them. I think you should shut shop. Why are you wasting your time?).”
Adding salt to the already fuming burn, Ashneer had added “Aap mummy ke saath baith ke lehenge bech loge toh do lakh ka bik jayega (If you and your mother sell a lehenga, that too will sell for Rs 2 lakhs).”

“Ye Sab Doglapan Hai”: Niti Calls Ashneer Grover Out
While in the show, it was Ashneer who had the upper hand, it seems that Niti is having the last laugh. The young designer took to Instagram where she shared a video of her journey at Shark Tank India. In the video she also added a picture of Ashneer & his wife from their appearance at the Kapil Sharma Show. Niti claims that Ashneer’s wife was wearing a dress from her brand ‘Twee in One’.

Hilariously enough, Niti concluded the video with the viral meme on Ashneer where he calls out people saying ‘Ye sab doglapan hai’.
She also added a caption in which she wrote, “Never let anyone’s words pull you down. Everyone has their own opinions. Don’t stop believing in yourself. Thank you @madsj30 for appreciating our work. We love you!!” She further tagged Ashneer and his wife Madhuri.
