In a shocking incident, at least one person was killed and five were left injured after a brawl broke out at a wedding in Agra due to ‘rasgulla’ shortage. The incident was reported from Agra’s Etmadpur area and occurred earlier on Wednesday night. The incident comes just a month after a similar brawl was reported from Kerala where a groom was denied ‘papad’. That particular incident at least three people were rendered injured.
In the recent Agra brawl, a 22-year-old youth, identified as Sunny, suffered serious injuries, and died during treatment. Earlier on Wednesday, Usman’s daughters were getting married at Etmadpur area. During the wedding feast, an argument broke out between the bride’s side and the groom’s side due to shortage of ‘rasgullas’ (traditional Bengali sweet).
The argument took an ugly turn when one person launched an all-out attack on the attendees. The argument, which started due to a trivial reason, ended up putting 22-year-old Sunny into hospital. Sunny was first rushed to the local community center, from where he was referred to Sarojini Naidu Medical College, where he took his last breath.
Brawls across the nation over trivial reason has been on an all-time high. Earlier this week, a man in Ghaziabad was beaten to death with a brick over parking spot issue.
The Facts of the Matter
Not getting your fair share of sweets at a wedding can really dampen one’s spirits. However, can such a trivial matter lead to the death of a person and injuries to several others. While the idea seems way too outlandish, this is what truly transpired recently in Agra, where the shortage of ‘rasgulla’ led to the death of a 22-year-old youth, and injuries to five other wedding attendees.

Wedding Feast Turns Into Brawl Hotspot
It so happened that daughters of Usman, resident of Mohalla Shaikhan, were getting married earlier on Wednesday night in Agra’s Etmadpur area. During the wedding feast, the groom’s side and bride’s side got into a heated argument over the shortage of ‘rasgulla’ (a Bengali sweet dish).

22-Year-Old Youth Injured Severely
As per Etmadpur Circle Officer Ravi Kumar Gupta, the argument over rasgulla soon turned into a full-blown brawl where one man launched an attack with knife against other attendees. As the brawl escalated, 22-year-old Sunny faced the brunt of the incident.
He suffered serious injuries and was rushed to the Community Health Centre, from where he was referred to Sarojini Naidu Medical College, Agra. During the treatment, he succumbed to the injuries and his body was sent for postmortem.

5 Others Injured, No Arrests Made So Far
Meanwhile, five other persons were also sent to the community centre after sustaining injuries. It should be noted that a complaint has been filed by the family of the deceased victim, however no arrests have been made. Circle officer Ravi Kumar Gupta mentioned that further action will be taken based on the complaint of the victim’s family.
