The Facts of the Matter
The contentious Amber Heard VS Johnny Depp trial shed spotlight on the much needed issue of violence faced by men subjected by women. In India, gender-based violence affects as much as over 54% of married men, as per a survey of 1000 married men carried in rural communities of Haryana
Interestingly, while a man can be held accountable for abuse against wife under the Section 498 A of the IPC, there is no legislation that holds women accountable for such an abuse.
