It’s a proud moment for Indians that, Bengaluru based music composer and musician Ricky Kej won his third Grammy Award on Monday. He won the Grammy for the album ‘Divine Tides’ with rock-legend Stewart Copeland. He won the award for ‘Divine Tides’ as he was nominated in the Best Immersive Audio Album category.

The Song Which Made Ricky Win

‘Divine Tides’ is a tribute to the magnificence of our natural world; it features artists from around the world. This album contains 9 songs and 8 music videos that were filmed around the world from the enthralling beauty of the Indian Himalayas to the icy forests of Spain.

Divine Tides was Kej’s collaborative project with Copeland. They secured another Grammy for Best New Age Album in 2022. The composer also won for his 2015 album, ‘Winds of Samsara.’ The result was announced at the live ceremony held at the Crypto.com arena in Los Angeles, USA.

What Ricky had to Say on the Win

Kej during his nomination gladly said that, “It is an absolute honour to be nominated a second time for a Grammy Award for our album ‘Divine Tides’. Although my music is cross-cultural, it has always had strong Indian roots and I am extremely proud that Indian music has been recognized and shortlisted for this prestigious award by The Recording Academy. “

Further adding he said that, “This nomination encourages me further and solidifies my belief to continue making music that can inspire positive social impact.”

Youngest Indian with Grammy

To the surprise, Ricky is the youngest person from India to have won a Grammy Award. Adding to the surprise he is only the 4th Indian to bag the Grammys. On the other hand, Stewart Copeland is a 5-time Grammy Award-winning American musician and composer.

New Year’s Grammy

This year’s show was hosted by Trevor Noah and was held at the Crypto.com arena in Los Angeles, USA. Harry Styles, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar, ABBA and Lizzo are all among the nominees in for album of the year.

Buzztown’s famous pair of exes Taylor Swift and Harry Styles was spotted chatting and sharing word with each other in the crowd during an ad break at the Grammys.
