One Witness Lives to Tell the Tale
The only witness who lived to tell the harrowing tale was the victim’s grandfather, who was lying at a nearby distance. He told the media that the accused was in the habit of harassing his wife Paramjit. Paramjit, who had two children from earlier marriage, was forced by the accused to abandon her two minor children.
The accused also gave the two minor kids electric shops. Despite the repeated harassment to herself and her children, Paramjit insisted that she would be willing to live with the accused and her two children from the first marriage.
Victim had Left the Accused
Paramjit had also told her parents that her husband was a drug addict, and would consume ‘chitta (adulterated heroin) regularly and then drink alcohol.
Due to his drug habits, the victim had taken her two children and had been living with her parents for the last few months. The accused tried to convince her to come back home. However, when the victim refused, the accused was enraged, which is speculated to be the cause of his actions.
Other People Involved in Crime
The accused Kuldeep married Paramjit a year back and had since had troubled relationship with her and her family. Before passing away due to her injuries, Paramjit told locals that she heard her husband threaten that he would burn her and her family. She also added that there were other persons involved in the crime.
The cops registered a case in the matter, and efforts are on to catch the culprits.
