Power-couple Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja welcomed their first child, a baby boy earlier today. “Our lives are forever changed,” read an excerpt of statement issued by the new parents Sonam and Anand, who thanked doctors, nurses and their friends and family for their support. The news of Sonam and Anand becoming parents for the first time was issued by veteran actor Neetu Kapoor.
“On 20.08.2022, we welcomed our beautiful baby boy with bowed heads and open hearts. Thank you to all of the doctors, nurses, friends and family who have supported us on this journey. It’s only the beginning, but we know our lives are forever changed,” the statement read.
It is indeed a joyous year for Neetu Kapoor, who earlier this year welcomed her daughter-in-law in the form of Alia Bhatt. Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor got married earlier in April, and in June this year, the couple announced being pregnant.
It should be noted that Sonam and Anand surprised the media by announcing pregnancy earlier this year. In July, the couple hosted an intimate baby shower party in Mumbai, and prior to a similar function was held in London as well.
In May 2018, Sonam Kapoor and industrialist Anand Ahuja got married in an Anand Karaj ceremony in Mumbai.

While fans continue to dole out all their love and affection for about-to-be mum Alia Bhatt, it is Sonam Kapoor and her husband Anand Ahuja, who are making all the buzz for becoming parents for the first time. The couple welcomed their first child, a baby boy, earlier today.
Taking to Instagram, Sonam Kapoor shared a post, in which she announced welcoming her first baby boy, and thanking all the people who supported her in the journey towards motherhood. The post was also shared by veteran actor Neetu Kapoor.

Ranbir Kapoor’s mother Neetu Kapoor, who’s already in line to welcome her own grandchild, also shared the note. She also congratulated Sonam Kapoor’s parents – Anil Kapoor and Sunita Kapoor – for becoming grandparents.
Sonam had Announced Pregnancy in March
It should be noted that earlier on March 21, Sonam had taken to her social media to announce her pregnancy. The actress took to her social media and shared a picture flaunting her baby bump.

We can’t wait to welcome you. #everydayphenomenal #comingthisfall2022,” her announcement post’s caption read. She had shared a picture of her sporting a baby bump and lying on her husband’s lap.

Power Couple Hosted a Baby Shower in London
Earlier in June this year, the couple hosted a gorgeous baby shower, pictures of which Sonam added on her Instagram profile. “It’s all starting to feel real! This baby is now well on its way and I’m so thankful to @eieshabp for throwing the best welcoming party ever, bringing together so many of my favourite people and showering me with love and blessings in the most generous and beautiful way,” Sonam’s caption read.
