In an incident that can be remembered as ‘revenge of the apes’, monkeys were seen wreaking havoc at a medical store in Telangana, to take vengeance over a fellow monkey’s death.
It was an ordinary Sunday evening when two monkeys in Luxettipet town made their way into the Apollo medical shop, triggering a small chaotic chain of events. Tragically, in the midst of the commotion, fate dealt a cruel blow as one of the monkeys met an untimely end. Hastily closing the shutter in a desperate attempt to regain control, the shop owner inadvertently crushed the unfortunate creature.
Seizing the opportunity to vent their rage, the bereaved primates unleashed their fury upon the hapless medical shop. With an unsettling mix of vengeance and anguish, they stormed inside, hurling pharmaceutical boxes into disarray.
Outside, the commotion was not contained within the confines of the medical shop. The monkeys’ tumultuous presence sent ripples of unease through the surrounding vicinity. Bystanders watched with a mixture of fear and fascination as the turmoil unfolded before their eyes.
Eventually, the dust settled and the workers at the store were left reeling amid shrieks and shouts.
As a mark of respect for the deceased monkey, the workers later took its body to the Godavari River banks, and performed the final rites.

Pharmaceutical boxes were cast aside with reckless abandon, and patrons were forced to scramble out of the store. The monkeys also broke glasses of the door in their anger, and caused damage to property.

Tense Standoff Between the Locals and Primates
Fear hung heavy in the air, as the shop workers decided to lock themselves inside the shop for the next few hours. The monkey’s wrath, which occurred sometime around 10 am on Sunday, forced the shop workers to stay locked in till 5 pm, biding the time as they saw monkeys waiting patiently outside the store.

Calm After the Storm
Minutes turned into the hours, and eventually the monkeys decided to back off, leaving the store workers and other locals shaken to the core.
In a desperate bid to avoid any further aggression, the store workers took the deceased monkey’s body to the banks of the Godavari River, and performed final rites as a mark of respect.
