In a thrilling encounter caught on came, a confident deer can be seen grazing while a Cheetah pounces on it. Thankfully, no blood was spilled by the end of this encounter as the two animals were separated by a fence.

The entire ordeal was caught on cam and was shared by IFS officer Susanta Nanda on Twitter. Since being shared, the video has gone viral with over sixty-six thousand views so far and hundreds of retweets and comments on the same.

While some netizens complemented the confidence of the deer, and commented that they want similar level of confidence, others wrote how the deer is trusting the fence a little too much. Many netizens also wondered as to how the deer’s instincts didn’t kick in which would’ve made him flee the scene on seeing the predator.

Taking to Twitter, IFS officer Susanta Nanda wrote a hilarious caption to the video which read, “Window shopping by Cheetah…”.

When we think of a deer and a big cat like tiger, leopard or cheetah in the same frame, we would obviously imagine the deer making a run for its life as the big cat gives it a chase. Such is the law of the jungle and such is the food-chain where smaller and weaker beings often become prey of larger ones.

Over the course of centuries, evolution has gifted deer with high speed and quick maneuverability to make up for its not-so-strong body. Meanwhile, big cats have been gifted with strength, and hunting prowess.

So, one would assume that a deer, on sensing a big-cat in its vicinity, will obviously make a run for its life. However, thanks to a recently shared video on Twitter, not always do these deer have to evade the big cats.

What Did the Video Show?

On March 12, IFS officer Susanta Nanda took to Twitter and shared the video of a deer casually grazing. While grazing is one of the most common activities they are caught doing, what made the video special was that the deer was grazing while a cheetah was in the vicinity.

Separated by a flimsy fence, the deer on one side can be seen crazing casually while the cheetah on the other side crouching and waiting for the right moment to pounce and seize its meal. The cheetah inches closer to the deer and in a second, leaps on to the grazing deer.

Meanwhile, the deer seems unfazed by the cheetah’s attempt to take it down. It just takes a few steps back, and continues grazing without any problems. People who are looking at the entire incident unfold couldn’t stop laughing and one of them can be heard saying, “What is wrong with you? It is something that can eat you”.

Netizens React to Video of Cheetah Going Window Shopping

Netizens were delighted and enthralled with the video and commented on the apparent confidence of the deer.

While one netizen pondered whether the cheetah can jump the fence, another commented saying that the fence looked an electric one.

Interestingly, another netizen observed that the deer is probably not making the run as it has only three legs visible in the video.

Meanwhile other netizens simply made jokes around the incident and made light of the thrilling encounter.
