In a breathtaking display of perseverance and determination, Ishita Kishore, a DU Alumnus, and an Air Force officer’s daughter has emerged as the topper of the highly competitive and coveted UPSC Civil Services examination. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has declared the highly anticipated results of the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2022, earlier on Tuesday, with the four top rankers being women.

In a stunning victory, Ishita Kishore soared to claim the coveted top position, leaving a lasting imprint on the annals of the Civil Services arena. Garima Lohia and Uma Harathi N, two formidable contenders, clinched the second and third ranks respectively.

An alumnus of the illustrious Shri Ram College of Commerce at Delhi University, Ishita’s intellectual prowess shone through her pursuit of a degree in economics. Venturing into the professional realm after completing her studies, Ishita found herself at Ernst & Young, where she lent her expertise to the esteemed risk advisory department.

“I am getting a lot of phone calls now. I am very happy. My family is there with me,” a jubilant Ishita was quoted saying.

Rooted in a family with a profound military heritage, Ishita drew inspiration from her father, an Indian Air Force officer. Her upbringing nurtured a deep-rooted love for the nation, a drive to serve, and an unwavering commitment to its development.

With the much-anticipated unveiling of the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2022 results, the country is once again coming together to laud four hard-working and intelligent women, that secured the top four all India ranks in the examination.

0.16% of Candidates Chosen by Commission

A staggering 11,35,697 ambitious people had applied for the examination, out of which a formidable 5,73,735 candidates appeared in the exams. Among them, a total of 13,090 candidates wrote the exam, from which a meager 2,529 students made it through to Personality Test.

Out of them, the commission has recommended 933 candidates (613 men and 320 women) for coveted government services. To give it a perspective, only 0.16% of the appeared candidates have been chosen by the commission.

Driven by an unwavering determination to make a difference, Ishita made the life-altering decision to shift her focus to the UPSC exams.

“I am getting a lot of phone calls now. I am very happy. My family is there with me,” Ishita joyfully expressed in an interview with Aajtak.
