A 9-year-old fashion designer prodigy has nearly amassed as many as 600k followers on social media platform TikTok, and has even earned praise from Vera Wang, an independent bridal wear designer. The 9-year-old girl, identified as Kaia Aragon, has been sewing clothes and designing them since she was four.
A third-grader, she belongs to Colorado, and has already started receiving buying requests from people who saw her designs online and wanted to own them. However, her mother, who first introduced Kaia to the world through TikTok, stated that she only wants Kaia to enjoy her passion as a hobby for now.
While there are thousands of such designers on TikTok who exhibit their skills and love for fashion, Kaia is one of the few designers who been able to create a difference.
Her TikTok videos somehow reached Vera Wang, prolific bridal designer who has designed outfits for Michelle Obama, Kim Kardashian, Hilary Duff, and Victoria Beckham. Wang commented on one of Kaia’s videos and sent her a gift along with a personal note.

Thanks to social media, millions of people every day are able to showcase their talents and can connect with people with whom they can enhance their skills and get better. Today, anyone from a 10-year-old kid, to a 70-year-old elderly, can go to Instagram or TikTok, upload a video of their unique talent, and get feedback as to how good they are.

Meet 9-Year-Old Kaia Aragon
9-year-old Kaia Aragon from Colorado is one such person who has amassed nearly 600k followers on TikTok thanks to her fashion designing prowess. Truly a prodigy, the up-and-coming designer makes her own clothes, sewing things by herself with the machine her parents gave to her.
Kaia’s mother, who first saw Kaia’s keen interest in all-things-fashion, shares Kaia’s outfits on TikTok with some of the videos earning millions of views. Her mother Tonya told the New York Post that Kaia was pretty particular about her sense of style and had the same acumen since she was old enough to dress herself.
Sewing and Designing a Dress in Just One Hour
About a year ago, she received a sewing machine from her parents, and since has mastered the art and science of sewing. Her mother told the New York Post that she hands her daughter a fabric, and within an hour or so, Kaia would sew a brand new beautifully designed piece.
The third-grader hopes to own her own brand-label and she dreams to employ her friends and sister as designers. While one would dismiss Kaia’s hopes as just wishful dreaming, it should be noted that she already has offers by people who are willing to buy her designs.

Kaia’s Efforts Gets Attention from Vera Wang
For now, Kaia’s mother wants her 9-year-old girl to explore her interests. She does however share Kaia’s designed outfits on TikTok. Netizens across the world have appreciated Kaia’s efforts and talent for fashion designing.
One such netizen was American fashion designer Vera Wang known for her awe-inspiring wedding dresses and evening wear. She commented on one of Kaia’s videos and also sent her a gift with a personal note.

‘So excited to see you are already pursuing your dream of becoming a fashion designer! Congratulations and all good luck,’ the 72-year-old designer wrote. Kaia also received a purple backpack from Wang. Meanwhile, Kaia claims that she is just happy that people across the world are able to see her designs. ‘
“I feel happy because people all over the world are seeing my designs,’ she was quoted saying.
