In a tragic incident, 1 person was left injured and another died after a car took sudden U-turn. The incident was reported from Mumbai, Maharashtra and occurred on September 29, midnight.

Maharashtra is known for its sprawling highways, constant hustle and bustle, and the tragedy that occurs on the highways. According to Maharashtra Highway Police, 2019 had 11,787 accidents that claimed the lives of 12,788 persons. A year before that, as many as 13,261 persons died in 12,098 reported accidents.
Since January 2021, Mumbai tops the charts of people being injured in road accidents across the state. Reportedly, since January 2021 to June 2021, there were 14,245 accidents reported where 6,708 people lost their lives.
Recently, another accident occurred in Mumbai which was caught on CCTV footage.

The Facts of the Matter
1 person died and another person was left seriously injured when their bike ran into a car. The person driving the bike couldn’t control his two-wheeler as a car ahead of him took a sudden U-turn. The incident happened on a bridge next to the Phoenix Mall. The CCTV footage showed how negligence of a few seconds can turn things upside down.
What the CCTV Footage Showed
The CCTV footage shows a black coloured sedan in the middle of taking a U-turn. All hell breaks loose when a biker emerges in the frame and hits the car. The biker and the passenger with him skids across the road and to their misfortune, they come under another two-wheeler that was coming from the opposite end.
Meanwhile, the car driver, instead of stopping and addressing the accident, drove off.

Accident Victims Identified, Car Driver Booked
After the accident, the accident victims were identified. The two persons on the bike were Bhavesh Arun Sanghvi a Ghatkopar resident and Krishna Ashok Kuradka a 26-year-old Chembur resident. The victims were rushed to the Nair Hospital at Mumbai Central. One of them was reported dead on arrival whereas another one was injured.
Further, the biker who was coming from the other side was identified as Ashfaq Multani. He suffered minor injuries after the accident and is taking treatment from the Sion Hospital.
A case has been filed against the accused who’s on the run. The police have charged the person with multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code. This includes Section 279 (Rash driving or riding on a public way), Section 337 (causing hurt to any person by doing any act so rashly or negligently as to endanger human life), Section 304 A (Causing death by negligence), Section 184 (Driving dangerously).
