In a high-altitude horror situation, a topless woman aboard a Russian airline flight bit a flight attendant and tried to enter the cockpit, all the while hurling abuses and threats to the passengers and the airline crew. The incident took place on an Aeroflot flight from Stavropol to Moscow and the unruly passenger in question was identified as 49-year-old Anzhelika Moskvitina. The high-octane drama took place when Anzhelika Moskvitina locked herself in the washroom to smoke.

The drama unfolded some 33,000 feet in the air when Anzhelika Moskvitina was taking an Aeroflot flight to Moscow. According to The Moscow Federal MASH, the woman locked herself inside a cockpit to smoke. According to witnesses, the woman also removed her top, and as the plane continued hitting turbulence, she started screaming to the fellow passengers that they are all doomed. As the crew asked her to not indulge in further unruly behaviour, the woman tried to force her way into the plane’s cockpit.

Media outlets have stated that a video of the incident surfaced, where the woman was seen arguing with the fight crew as they tried to calm her down. One of the crew members also said, “Lady, get dressed”.

When one of the flight attendants tried to restrain her, she bit him and kept on her air-rage.

The Facts of the Matter

Unruly passengers on planes have become a growing concern for airlines and the aviation industry in recent years. Such passengers can cause serious disruptions to flights, including verbal and physical assaults on crew and fellow passengers, smoking, attempting to enter the cockpit, and interfering with emergency equipment.

The high-octane drama in 33,000 feet took place earlier this week on the Aeroflot flight which was flying to Moscow from Stravopol. In the flight, was 49-year-old Anzhelika Moskvitina, who went on to become the cause of nuisance and ruckus in the flight.

Woman Got Up To Smoke

Reports have stated that Anzhelika Moskvitina first got up from her seat when the seatbelts sign were on and got inside a washroom with a cigarette. Inside the bathroom, she lit a cigarette and tried to smoke.

Going Topless in Front of Passenger

Witnesses claim that after she came out of the washroom, she removed her top in front of passengers that also included children. When asked to maintain decorum and told that there were children in the flight as well, the woman was quoted saying, “I respect children. What’s more, I love children. I understand I’ll go to the mental hospital or a prison. But I want to go to the cockpit.”

When a crew member tried helping her to dress, she went on to say, “Please go away from me. Kill me here, but I will smoke.”

Woman Likely to Face Criminal Charges

Before she could be cuffed, she tried to enter the plane’s cockpit. This was when a flight attendant intervened and tried to pacify her. But the unruly woman continued her air-rage, and went on to bite the crew member.

She was later cuffed and is likely to face criminal charges.

Meanwhile, Aeroflot issued a statement, demanding new laws be put for passengers involved in ‘air rage’.

“Due to the passenger’s destructive behaviour, the aircraft commander decided to use a means of restraint on her. Aeroflot emphasises that this case again proves the urgent need at the legislative level to toughen punishment for air rowdies, including creating a single blacklist of destructive passengers for all airlines,” the statement read.
