In West Bengal, a minor girl reportedly tried to sell blood to buy smartphone, and thankfully timely intervention from a hospital saved the day. The minor had reportedly ordered a phone for herself from her relative’s phone worth Rs 9,000. As per reports, the 16-year-old minor reached a blood bank of the Balurghat district hospital earlier on Monday and expressed her desire to sell the blood. Shocked and startled at the girl’s intentions, the district hospital’s blood bank reached out to Child Welfare Committee, and alerted about the matter.
